ROM // Lai Yew & Kristle

It's been up for a while, but I didn't announce it formally through here. In any case, do check out the photos from the ROM of this lovely couple. All the flowers you see in the photos were manually done by Kristle and her friends. Simply beautiful. Congratulations you two!

Big Update

New content is up on the site. Do look them up on the side bar or menu list. They're all aptly tagged with a [NEW] identifier to make it easier. You can also click on the links below. Cheers!

[ROM] Dingzhi & Yin Yin

Beautiful and small ceremony to celebrate a young and beautiful couple. Many thanks for taking care of me during the shoot and always being concerned about my well-being.

A huge event with an amazing line-up of top chefs and huge array of seafood to choose from. Many thanks to the folks of NBAS for trusting me with my interpretation of their wonderful event.

I have much to be thankful for the people who entrust me with the task of taking the photographs they need through my eyes. Many times have I been exposed to new experiences that would not have been known under normal circumstances. I only hope to transcend my skills and service to the next level as time goes by. My hearty thanks to the people who made this possible. Many more exciting times ahead.

Gone Adventurin

A while back, I did a portrait shoot of the good folks behind Gone Adventurin. Ashwin, Laura and Jacqui had very charming and fun personalities, which made the shoot that much more interesting. (Kudos for entertaining all my weird suggestions.)

Gone Adventurin has a very interesting concept. They took corporate clients (among many others) and brought them out on adventures that make a social impact. Just go to their website and take a look at their videos to see the awesome stuff that they do.

The photos are now on the site, so take a look!

I only wish for the best for these people, because it's such an amazing and interesting line of work. All the best!

(Left to Right): Laura, Ashwin and Jacqui. Despite the serious pose, it was harder for them to contain their smiles and laughter.

A New Look

Hello and welcome to the newly revamped website. While I was happy with the previous interface, something just didn't click about it. The interface wasn't intuitive enough, and photographs didn't pop out as much as they should (or as I wanted it to).

So enter the new website! I'll have to admit that it is not the most original interface out there, but I've always loved minimalism. The simpler it is, the more effective the message.

What I love most about this interface is that you can easily transition between photos by either clicking on them or pressing the 'left' and 'right' arrow button. The mobile site has also been optimized for smartphones, instead of loading the desktop version of the site (let's face it, your phone will never have a 24" screen).

Do have a browse, and look forward to its evolution!

Cheers.

ROM // Terence & Pearlene

Note: Trying out something new to present and share my latest works in a more accessible and fun way. Hope you like it!

Terence and Pearlene were the last couple I shot for the year 2012, and they were such awesome people to work for. As I've shared in a previous post, there's something so comfortably raw and candid about how they were around each other. Yes, it's something you'd expect out of any couple who are tying the knot, but they really left quite a wonderful impression on me.

Just recently met them again to pass the final products, and with that done, it's my pleasure to share the joy I had of shooting! It's now available on the website.

Cheers and enoy.

AI.Preview No.4

I shot this event quite a while back, and I'm still actually quite unsettled as to how there are so many hidden gems in Singapore. There's always this sense of discovery with every assignment I do, but this really did quite a big impression on me. I won't say more until it's officially out in the wild, but here're some of the food served during the event to pacify you (or make you hungrier).

AI.Preview No.[201]3

The year 2012 has been quite the adventure for me, and there's actually so much to reflect about and share. But keeping to my philosophy of minimalism (also another roundabout way of saying laziness), I'd like to give a special mention to the last couple I shot for the year 2012, Terence and Pearlene.

Truly one of the most lovable couples, with all their bare honesty and cosiness with each other and everyone around them. It's probably the first time I'm actually more stressed than the couple themselves, but that's a good thing haha.

Thank you for ending my year with a big smile. My well wishes to the both of you!

안녕하세요!

If it feels like there hasn't been much activity lately, you're right! I was away in South Korea for a holiday (my second visit in two years), experiencing my first autumn ever. Was totally awed by the beauty of this season! I can't believe how many autumns I've already missed. As I've not experienced spring as well, maybe I should start planning now? We'll see. Here's a photo to sum up my journey there.

Hurricane Sandy

Due to the damage done by Hurricane Sandy, the site is a bit unstable as the main server is in the USA. Do check back at a later time if it's not working for you. Hope that the people affected by it are safe and sound.

AI.Preview No.2

I recently have had the honour of being the photographer for two amazing yet contrasting events. On one side, you have an international celebrity easily recognised for his driving talents and charm. On the other, you have a pair of local artists, who are also very talented albeit recognised within a smaller circle. I don't think fame and recognition can ever be quantified to make sense. Nor does it reflect the type of person you are. Be true to yourself and make a good and reputable name out of it.

Anyway, random thoughts aside, you can find my photos on these two events at these links: one for Lewis Hamilton, and the other for Mr & Mrs Sabotage. I'll post my favourites up on this site soon enough! Look out for it.

AI.P Meets Lewis Hamilton

I'm a stranger to all that is F1, but you've got to be crazy not to know this man. I had the pleasure of being in the same space as Lewis Hamilton for an event. An amazingly nice guy, with great celebrity presence. All the best to him for the race here.

*If you're wondering why this picture is so awkward, this was immediately after the posed shot. It was out of focus sadly. Haha.

AI.Preview No.1

Fully finished the editing for one of my shoots recently and I'm really excited to incorporate it into the website. But since the photos are not officially out in the wild yet, I'm going to contain this excitement into bite-sized pieces. Look forward to it being unveiled! (Hopefully, soon!)

Work Work

It's been more than a month since this site has been conceptualised. I'm quite happy with how it is looking, but there's still much more to be done.

I've been working pretty quietly on a few of my previous projects. That's why this site has not been receiving much lovin' lately. But rest assured, once completed, they will be going up! Here's a little preview of what I'm working on.

Look forward to it!

What's going on?

This website has been a work in progress (well, mostly a lot of procrastination mixed in) for quite some time, and I finally feel that the time is right for me to share my vision with the world (starting with Singapore).

While this will serve to be a window into my photography as I see it, I will also be sharing posts that are both personal to me and may be of interest to you. Don't worry, it's not going to be all about photography. I have a huge interest in all things gaming, technology and music (particularly headphones) as well, among other things. With whatever free time I might have, I'll be writing and sharing on these topics without having you to gouge your eyes from reading it.

Do take a look around and drop me an e-mail to share your thoughts and feedback. Better still, hire me to do photography for you! So pick up that mouse and keyboard, and fire those salvoes of e-mails! (Alternatively, just have fun browsing my content. Cheers!)
