Global Citizen [South Korea]

I've recently been away for about 12 days to South Korea for a holiday. But rather than making it feel like just a getaway, I've been trying to push myself to actually see things differently and learn new things about each new and old places I've been to. With this being my third time to this beautiful country, and knowing a decent amount of Korean, I decided to go deeper into appreciating what this country has to offer.

​I'll be opening up a new photo section regarding my travel photography. I'll also work towards writing up some features on places and things you should look out for in these countries with the best of my and the internet's collective knowledge. My aim is to give my personal take on what these countries mean to me. It might not be unique and, with almost everyone now being a seasoned traveler, it's not the one guide to rule them all. But taking cue from sites like Reddit, it's the sharing of experiences online that makes this modern age so much more powerful for everyone.

For now, please bear with the bare (sorry) content that's been embarrassing for me to repeatedly apologize for. I've not been neglecting my photography, so do look forward to more of my portfolio and posts.

A New Look

Hello and welcome to the newly revamped website. While I was happy with the previous interface, something just didn't click about it. The interface wasn't intuitive enough, and photographs didn't pop out as much as they should (or as I wanted it to).

So enter the new website! I'll have to admit that it is not the most original interface out there, but I've always loved minimalism. The simpler it is, the more effective the message.

What I love most about this interface is that you can easily transition between photos by either clicking on them or pressing the 'left' and 'right' arrow button. The mobile site has also been optimized for smartphones, instead of loading the desktop version of the site (let's face it, your phone will never have a 24" screen).

Do have a browse, and look forward to its evolution!

ROM // Terence & Pearlene

Note: Trying out something new to present and share my latest works in a more accessible and fun way. Hope you like it!

Terence and Pearlene were the last couple I shot for the year 2012, and they were such awesome people to work for. As I've shared in a previous post, there's something so comfortably raw and candid about how they were around each other. Yes, it's something you'd expect out of any couple who are tying the knot, but they really left quite a wonderful impression on me.

Just recently met them again to pass the final products, and with that done, it's my pleasure to share the joy I had of shooting! It's now available on the website.

I shot this event quite a while back, and I'm still actually quite unsettled as to how there are so many hidden gems in Singapore. There's always this sense of discovery with every assignment I do, but this really did quite a big impression on me. I won't say more until it's officially out in the wild, but here're some of the food served during the event to pacify you (or make you hungrier).

The year 2012 has been quite the adventure for me, and there's actually so much to reflect about and share. But keeping to my philosophy of minimalism (also another roundabout way of saying laziness), I'd like to give a special mention to the last couple I shot for the year 2012, Terence and Pearlene.

Truly one of the most lovable couples, with all their bare honesty and cosiness with each other and everyone around them. It's probably the first time I'm actually more stressed than the couple themselves, but that's a good thing haha.

Thank you for ending my year with a big smile. My well wishes to the both of you!
